Frequently Asked Questions

Single prepaid legal letters are typically delivered within 3 working days.

You will receive an automated email to the email address you specified when sending the letter.

Check your junk Email or Spam folder. Alternatively you can use our tracking page to view the status of your delivery and download the proof as evidence.

Whilst we endeavor to cover all areas within South Africa with our hand-delivery option, if your delivery is for an area where we do not have a messenger, we will then verify that the recipients address exists before submitting via the Post Office Fastmail service. You will still receive proof of sending via your email address.

Whilst we endeavor to deliver within the time frames stipulated, occasionally delivery may be delayed due to unforeseen circumstances, for example, riots in the area. If this occurs, we will notify you and delivery will still take place as soon as it is safe to do so.

We will geocode all addresses submitted to ensure our messengers deliver to the correct location. If an address does not exist or is incomplete, you will still receive a Proof of Delivery with the appropriate reason. The Proof of Sending can still be used to prove your attempt to send a Legal Notice. Full price still applies. Legal Proof cannot be held responsible for incorrect information supplied by you.

We are unable to make any changes to documents or recipients information once a delivery is submitted. This is for legal and security reasons.

Cancellations must be made in writing to support@legalproof.co.za. Refunds will only be considered if the delivery has not already been assigned and printed by a messenger, and only once payment is reflected in our bank account.

All deliveries are hand-to-door to the address given by you. If the recipient is not home, the signature of an adult at the premises will be obtained. If nobody is home, the delivery is done to the premises mailbox or gate and photo evidence is taken.

If your claim is a monetary amount less than R20,000, we recommend that you take the debtor to the small claims court. Alternatively we recommend that you contact a lawyer to pursue the matter further. Remember to take a copy of all the legal letters you already sent as well as all of the proof of deliveries.

You can contact your own lawyer or else you can contact one of our recommended lawyers to further pursue the merits of your case.
